Walking In English

23 NOVEMBER 2021 TO 26 NOVEMBER 2021| WORKSHOP

As a predominant language of civil-rights, political-justness or judiciary, is English bearing the promise of emancipation from ancient oppressive traditional systems?
How come English prevailed in a region which has a vast range of mother-tongues?
A language in which spellings often don’t match the pronunciation; is such a language a curse or a boon for a people that pertain to native ancient culture(s)?

some such questions were discussed around the politics of English language in India during the November month’s workshop ‘Walking in English’
