19 MAY 2013 TO 25 SEPTEMBER 2013 | EXHIBITION
‘Undressing’ was a public art installation created by Farzan Dalal and curated by Avni Sethi. ‘Undressing’ responded to the liminality of identity and analyzed human conditioning as a social imperative in today’s scenario of violent societies. It was a reactive installation and the form was almost formless, organic. As its name suggests, the main objective of the installation was to help people ‘undress’ their inhibitions, hatred, prejudices, and reticence. The installation made people choose the qualities that they wish to possess and not only at an individual level but also at a community level the installation grew into a statistical feeling chart and traveled to various places in Ahmedabad. This interactive street art installation aimed to become a dialogue space where people voiced their opinions and exchanged thoughts.
