These poetic and musical forms are beautiful expressions of human emotions weaved in Awadhi symbols, the narration of life and culture. These Art forms are performed traditionally during the month of Muharram. These Art forms have really been important traditions of Awadh in terms of classical Awadhi, Urdu and some Persian poetic forms. Askari Naqavi is an artist who performs Soz-khwani and Nauha-khwani right from his childhood as it has always been part of his family tradition.
