DECEMBER 2013 TO FEBRUARY 2015 | MUSICAL PERFORMANCES

Conflictorium started a monthly musical event called Gunguccha. Gunguchha was an evening dedicated to the love of music. It offered a space for upcoming musical talent in India. It also encouraged the audience to engage with the performer and be a part of a larger discourse about music. We hosted 8 editions of Gunguccha. There were a variety of performances such as Kabir Bhajans, Qawwali, Sufi Music, Band Performances.

Qawwali performance by Sajid Solanki –  Qawwal for the night was Sajid Solanki. He is a construction worker by profession and a trained classical singer. He has trained under Ustad Ashraf Ali Khan, who is a sarangi player and also a teacher of Hindustani music. Sajid Bhai was accompanied by his troupe on the sarangi, harmonium and tabla.

It is the music – Chhara Vocals by Anish Garange, a unique musical programme which had music from daily utensils and songs was in Bhantu (Chhara) Tribal Dialect. A new art form emerging which talks about real-life music and language, a real, true expression.
