About the book:
Flowers on the Grave of Caste by Yogesh Maitreya is the first English Dalit short story collection in India. In India, adding to the development of Dalit literature in English language, this short story collection is a significant contribution since in the domain of fiction, it has introduced Dalit/ambedkari perspective as a literary imagination. It contains six short stories, and most of them portray the internal complex of a Dalit youth in urban spaces, and them leading to assertion against caste.
About the author:
Yogesh Maitreya is a poet, translator, columnist, PhD scholar and publisher at Panther’s Paw Publication. He has translated work of fiction and non-fiction from dalit literature. For his PhD, he is working on Ambedkari Shahiri as music against caste.
