Nandita Dinesh is a theatre maker/scholar from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Theatre and War is a book written by Nandita Dinesh. The book talks about how the arts might work within contemporary conflict zones. This book provides insight both to practices in contexts that have not been previously documented—Nagaland, Guatemala, Kashmir for example—and also offers an approach to analysis that is refreshingly immediate. The reading and conversation dealt with community theatres in complex sites of violence and upheaval, dynamics of these conflicts and how theatre might operate to challenge and question them.
