Agnipariksha is a book written by Hamid Kureshi. It is a memoir of trauma and hope based on the 1969 Ahmedabad riots. The writer talks about cultural and religious pluralism as he was a third-generation Gandhian. The Gujarat High court lawyer also shares his experience of riots. This book revolves around conflict, human kindness, friendship and dignity, hatred, mortal danger and fear.

This book is translated by Rita Kothari renowned cultural historian, author and translator. Conflictorium hosted a discussion based on this book with Rita Kothari, S D Desai, Sadiqnoor Pathan. The conversation was around history and what it means to translate conflict in the city of Ahmedabad.
