Akhil Katyal read poetry from his book How Many Countries Does the Indus Cross (Winner of the Editor’s Choice Award, TGIPC 2019) We also had a discussion with Akhil regarding his work and poetry after.

Akhil Katyal’s second book of poems How Many Countries Does the Indus Cross (2019) won the Editor’s Choice Award by The (Great) Indian Poetry Collective. His translation of Ravish Kumar’s Ishq Mein Shahar Hona was brought out by Speaking Tiger as A City Happens in Love (2018). He was the International Writing Fellow at the University of Iowa International Writing Programme in Fall 2016. With poet Aditi Angiras, he is currently co-editing The World That Belongs to Us: An Anthology of Queer Poetry from South Asia for HarperCollins India (forthcoming 2019). He teaches Creative Writing at Ambedkar University Delhi.
